House battery recommendation needed

I am currently using 4 Trojan 6-volts that are beginning to bulge and not holding charge, they are 5-6 years old. I don't boondocks often, usually a week or two a year. I am trying to decide to purchase 4 new 6 volts or save some money and go with two 12 volts. I don't have an inverter in my coach. Suggestions?

We didn't boondock at all, so max capacity of the house batteries wasn't a big issue. When we bought the rig from the original owners, there was a rather tired, single size 27 12V battery on board. We replaced it with a pair of Costco size 27s, since the battery bay had room for them (about $60 each IIRC). Still going strong after 4 years use when we sold the rig,

I would put in 2 12volt DEEP CYCLE batteries in you case. Might get the highest amp hour I could find(Interstate has them) and 1/2 the price of the 4 T105's. Worst case you wouldneed to run Gen a little longer when you do boondock.

or 2 6 V batteries. Check prices and sizes and get the best deal. You can go either way as you have the room and have the wiring there for whatever you decide. I'd start with the local golf cart supplier and see what they have cheap.

My son has similar usage, limited dry camping. There he has two 12v marine batteries from Walmart (yes, we know they are not deep cycle). Works fine for his usage.

Personally I would not go with 12 volt batteries as none of them are really a deep cycle battery. I would put in 2 of the 6 volt Trojans or other good brand. I just got rid of 2 marine 12 volt batteries and put in 2 Trojans at the 6 volt status, they are much more capable of discharging and lasting longer. You certainly do not need 4 of them if you seldom dry camp.
