Can't make it this year -- too much going on with down-sizing, selling the house, etal. Will definitely miss it, tho. \ken

The Winnebago GNR is coming to a close. Over a thousand units, lots of good entertainment, lots of food, and one storm overnight. Grandkids have had a ball.

I think attendance was down just a little but still more than 900 rigs were there. The food was the same, pretty good I think, and my opinion of the entertainment was that it was better than last year.

On Thursday morning a storm blew through taking out the tents of the Iowa Meat people, Cummins, the RV dealers and a few others. Lots of wind and rain. The White Tent was unusable until they drained the water off a couple pockets in the roof.

Friday night the entertainment had to cut short as a storm was imminent as well, however it did pass south of us.

We took our two Grandchildren and as usual they had a really good time. There were only thirty some children registered so they had a lot of time on the rides. They of course want to go back next year.

We will go back.

Thanks, Cooperhawk. We are [regrettably] part of the reason that attendance was down compared to GNR2014. We will be back in 2016, for sure. Too bad about the rain and wind ... I hope the Iowa meat tent got set back up -- they have some great sausage! How well attended was the vendor tent? Were there any vendors or presentations pitching SOLAR this year? \ken

Iowa meats did not get set back up. They tried to function with no cover but it was hot and the sun was blazing down. They finally gave up.

The vendors were all in attendance but I did not personally see any solar displays. We got service from HWH and Coleman for our water heater.

There were a lot more new motorhomes on display this year with two different dealers. Liptshinn and one from Davenport.

The Walking Tacos were good as were the Iowa Meats sandwiches. The Flying W diner did a good business as well as did the Ice Cream place.

Lots of wine and cheese events as well.

Really good shows each night at the Amphitheater. A Beatles Cover band was
one night.
Scooby-Doo's increased their hours and their food offerings. Now you can
get a great ice cream cone from 9am to 9pm.
The usual Seminars and a few more vendors than usual. Weather was good, a
bit hot but it could have been much worse. The few times it rained was
during the late night so that was good. Not too much mud. Didn't hear of
anyone getting stuck except one but that was a few days before the rally
started.
Electricity is one of the best we've seen. Voltage stayed in the 122 to 127
range even with all these rigs running A/C almost 24/7.
