Fluorescent Tube Light Bulbs to LED
Our 2008 Vectra has 36" florescent bulbs in the kitchen/living room ceiling fixtures. We've replaced all the incandescent bulbs in the coach except for the closets, storage bays, and these with LEDs. These are F30T8 tubes and I've searched the internet and can only find dealers with "special order" (make on demand) for this size. Any suggestions would be appreciated -- I'm not going to order 25 bulbs on a special order .

I do not know of any 12V fluorescent to LED upgrade that does not need rewiring to remove the electronic ballast, it is not too difficult, the DIY thread has several examples.
Good Luck!

That would come to about $400 to do my coach. They last 10/12 times longer but also cost that many times more. You still seem to be running the ballasts anyway too with the direct replacements from Revolution. Price point is not there yet to make it economically viable.

Update!! After numerous calls and emails to Magna Light on the "expensive" LED tubes that we ordered, we finally got our money back -- there were repeated delays with a projected delivery in mid January.
Contacted "Energy Conservation Optimization, LLC" at T8tubes.com | LED Depot. Received my LED tubes in 3-days at half the price of the previous dealer. Folks are very pleasant to deal with and can answer any questions on conversion to LEDs.

T-8 bulbs are used by most grocery stores. The diameter is smaller due space limitations in display cases. They shouldn't be hard to find. Check your local electrical supply store. Should be about $8-9 ea..

Sorry Capn Dave, I keep forgetting the lights are 12v., so not the same as the display case ones. I would still check with your local electrical supply store.

The balasts are powered by 12 volts however the bulbs should be the same. Even my battery powered (takes two 6 volt batteries) single 10" tube flourescent light uses the same compact tubes as the 120 volt fixtures.
