Dash A/C Feels like the heat is on !!!
2013 Adventurer 32H. Initial dash A/C turn on feels cool. Once under way and engine temp rises the dash AC feels like the heat is on. Any suggestions ?

Can you send a picture of your AC system under the front hood? Do you know who manufactures it? This may be similar to a problem I found on my Newmar

Make sure that the "dash heater temperature control" when set to cold is shutting off the flow of engine coolant to the heater core.

The AC/heat mixing is controlled by engine vacuum. Check the vacuum lines going to the heater/AC control unit located under the hood.
Here's a diagram that should be of some help.

Pinching either if the 2 short hoses pictured will do the job.

Mel, I know absolutely nothing about AC. Reassure me again that no damage will be done by me stopping the flow in either of these hoses. Thanks in advance !!!

No damage will be done unless the hose is deteriorated to the point that it cracks when pinched.
Stopping the flow of hot coolant to/through the heater core is what the dash temp control is supposed to do, (DOES iF it is working correctly), when that dash control is set to cold.

kevin1959, I updated your picture a little. Our dash AC units do not have a blend door to control the air temperature, the AC coil and the Heater coil are in one unit called a combo-coil. The temperature control on the heater control panel electrically controls the amount of water going through the heater coil. So yours is not shutting off the hot water when you move the control to the cooler position.
Here is a link to the trouble shooting guild for the valve. Try re-seating the connector on the valve.

Mel's suggestion is good, pinching the hose to stop flow. Vice-Grip makes a set with smooth round jaws exactly for this purpose. It will not damage the hose unless it is already rotted. It should hold until you make permanent repairs.
Mine does exactly like yours on standard cool, but it cools fine when the control is set to MAX., so it's left there in summer. Some day I'll get aroundtuit and test the valve and components.

Can't you follow the GREEN vacuum line to the heater water control module and see if it closes when the AC is in full cold. If you can see the valve operate the AC in full cold, check the valve arm position. Then turn the temp to full hot and check the arms again. There should be about a 90* difference in position.
Food Luck.

dc8cappie, the late model dash heat and air units have a electronic water control valve not vacuum. Look at the picture in post #11

My bad! wondered about that.
Question, is there an indicator of its position?

Why is it that manufactures continue to use a product that is proven to be inferior.
I have installed a ball valve on my original coach to stop the hot water supply. I must now install one on the present coach.
As stated above if AC is operated in the MAX position you get cold air in the dash, but heat in the normal AC position.
1/2 inch ball valve with barbed ends, available at big box stores, works well in the heater hose with 2 hose clamps. Just remember to open the valve for cooler weather operation
