Cut off switch 2020 View

Hello

I have a 2020 Winnebago View and have a battery issue.
The owners manual says to disconnect the chassis battery whenever it will be stationary for a long time, (pg 122).

The recommended procedure is to switch off the power by removing the plug. Our storage people think this is inconvenient and a potential problem since the plug could make contact with the ground pin if it isnít done properly.

We were thinking of installing a cut off switch. Has anyone run into this issue yet?

Thanks

I'm not up on the view but it is not unusual for all vehicles to have small voltage drains ( parasitic drains?) and many do want to disconnect the battery. One of the easy methods I have used on boats and RV are pretty cheap and easy to install and use if the battery is easy to access.
These are both types which I have used :

This one, you put on the post and unscrew the green knob to cut power.

This is somewhat more secure but can take more thought to find where to put it. On this, you turn the big key to cut power,remove the key and nobody can turn it back on .
They don't have to come from Harbor Freight but just where I found pictures and they are plenty sturdy and cheap--- if the situation is right. Much easier than removing cables, etc.

Assuming you're talking about the chassis (starting?) battery, consider the warranty implications on your chassis, if you install something that causes a major electrical, or other, problem.

I have installed several of these Blue Sea Systems Battery isolation / parallel switches on boats. It can isolate / disconnect one or both battery banks and in the case of an emergency can parallel both banks for additional starting power. It is a “Make Before Break” arrangement which means it can be switched between banks without power interruption.
Very straight forward wiring; just ensure you use sufficient gauge wire and terminals.
Use this chart to determine appropriate cable;

Similar to Morich's solution, just another option this link gets you the Blue Seas catalogue;

This link is to give an example of cost for one possible switch;
