Brake lights quit working

The weekend before Christmas, we used the coach (2005 Sightseer 30B) and everything worked just fine. Now, the brake lights aren't working. I thought I saw a thread (google search) that this is fairly common. Now, I can't find the thread again, and wanted to know if the problem might be just a fuse? Or something more serious. Hubby said the turn signals are working, but not the brakes.

Any suggestions?

Could be a fuse in the panel for the chassis items that we often find on cars/trucks and those are often separate from the RV items and often out under the "hood" but there are always other things which may go bad like connections, wires or the switch.
There is often a simple switch located along the brake pedal which opens and close as the metal "arm" the pedal is on moves. This can get lose and almost fall off but normally not too hard to spot if you can get the body wrapped around to see!
But then it is always good to keep in mind that it "could" be as simple as both bulbs have burned out. We can drive for years if we don't watch with one burned out and then finally notice we don't have brake lights!!
You can mark that one off the list if you do a light check each time before moving out but still possible.
Also be aware that the bulbs need both power coming in as well as a way for it to get to ground, so look for loose or corroded wires on both power and ground.

Not to answer your question, but suggest you add "2005 Sightseer 30B" to your signature. Saves having to insert it into the posts, every time you ask a year/make/model specific question.

It was the fuse. Took some time to find the fuse BOX, because the owner's manual mentioned a 'tip out panel' on the dash.Very confusing and misleading. The 'tip out' panel is the instrument panel - the entire thing. You LIFT up the instrument panel to show the coach fuses. But, the brake lights, cruise control, 4 way flashers, etc are NOT in that fuse panel in the dash. They are in the fuse panel under the hood, which can be a bear to get open. Since the brake light problem seems to very common, we just got a box of various fuses and are keeping it in the coach.

I appreciate the various bits of advice I get from this forum! However I now have a different problem, and will go start a new thread for that.
