Beeping alarm

I have a 2004 Vectra. There is a beeping alarm in the driver’s area that I can’t find. Everything seems to be working correctly. No accompanying warning lights on the dashboard. The engine must be running for it to activate. Driving the wife crazy. Any suggestions??

Hi David,
Your Owner's Manual for the 2004 Vectra describes a few things that go beep in the night, such as your carbon monoxide detector. Could it be that you have an exhaust leak and it seems like the sound is coming from the driver's area? Maybe it is something related to a seat belt warning? Does your chassis manual describe warning beeping? Perhaps a fuel filter which needs to be replaced?
Welcome to the forum.

One crude sounding , really high tech has helped me find sounds at times.

A four inch funnel and a short section of something like a garden hose can do a lot to locate the beeper and once the beeper is found you can often sort out what it is tied into for alarms.

Sounds dumb sound crude but if you put the hose on the funnel and clamp the funnel over and ear, the sound gets much louder when you point the hose toward the sound. If you can do it when the engine or other noise is low, it may lead you to a solution.

If the jacks down light is out the noise might be coming from the jack control panel and it was hard for several of us to sort out at one point way back a couple years!
As a quickie, you might try turning on the jacks and retracting them as a test to rule them out?

On ours...

Loud solid buzzing = low air pressure

Soft chiming = park brake on but tranny in gear

Beeping = jacks not all the way up

(from memory, not at the coach, but think this is accurate.)
