Here are some tube style LED fluorescent tube replacements

Revolution RV LED Bulbs

Starlight LED Tubes

I replaced my 12" tubes over the sink. I really like them. I was able to get them for $30 each in Yuma. I am planning on doing my 18" as well. Waiting for the price to come down. you do have to wire into the 12 volts and by pass the ballast. They aren't so expensive if you have to replace a ballast.

Anyone tried these?
It's the same "Ming" 230 lumens bulb that I posted. I'm leaning toward these (on a different site, $2/bulb cheaper than Amazon), and also am wondering if anyone has used these?

Ming LED Vanity Bulb source

Actually the cheapest Ming 20-99 LED Vanity Bulb is at RVLEDBulbs.com - RV LED Bulbs, RV LED Lights and Light Accessories and using a 15% discount, brings this bulb to $21.24. The 15% discount is for members at RVForum.net. Still wondering if anyone else has used this bulb for their vanity lights?

I installed 8 of these:
Revolution 2099- 270 Lumens Frosted Vanity Bulb

I think they are too bight but we're getting use to it. Funny that 4 of these use about the same as one of the originals and are brighter. Actually I wish they had them in a dimmer version but like I said, getting use to it.

These stick out arther than the original but they are not in the way. When off the originals "look" better I think. The "ball" of glass is the same size, the "stem" is longer though.

And yes, got the 15% discount as stated above.

These were not available when I got mine. I would get these if I was ordering now. Wish I could trade in the ones I have. These look more like the original and they are less bright too so they would be better I think...

Then again, when ever you get ANYTHING a better version comes out soon after...

I changed out my center isle two bulb flourescent some time ago with led strips and dislike the intense white light it puts out compared to the softer glow of the flouescent bulbs.
Does your center isle leds put out this intense white light?
I would like to retrofit to something more suitable for our eyes.

Thanks Ron

Ron,
We've got six "puck" lights in the kitchen/living room area, four on the driver side and two on the passenger side, just over the cooking area. In between all those puck lights are two, long, fluorescent fixtures, one in the kitchen area and one in the living room area. Neither one of them have been changed to LED status. The puck lights have all been changed to the warm white, SMD LED, G-4 Based disc bulbs.
Those puck lights are very close in intensity to the original Halogen G-4, 10 watt ones I removed. The big difference is, my batteries last a ton longer and, I don' t get a sun tan at night due to the heat from the the Halogens.

There's been a few threads here and there where some boys have changed to LED strips in those fluorescent fixtures. They (some vendors) sell them at Quartzite. I'm a bit skeptical because, while LEDs are bright to look at, many of them do not broadcast light like incandescent, or Halogen, or even fluorescent bulbs do. I would like to see my exact fluorescent fixtures outfitted with LEDs to see just what effect it has in OUR coach, with OUR colors, with OUR cabinet wood color etc. You say yours are "intense"? I'm assuming you mean they are brighter than the original fluorescent bulbs?

But, to answer your question, our puck lights with the LED changes, do work just fine. I like the cool white effect but, sometimes that color makes things look too much like a hospital. They are not too bright. Hope this answers your question.
Scott

Thanks Scott

In my 34 footer I have three 2 bulb flourescent light fixtures. The front near the windshield and the 3rd in the kitchen and one inbetween.
the one in the kitchen I replaced with these led strips I got over 2 years ago from ?. and have disliked them and seldom use that fixture.
Why I replaced it was because every time I turned that flourescesnt light on it also turned on the radio in the consol next to the bed. a bad ballast.
Now this thread has me energized to replace it with something, maybe I will just get a new ballast and put back the flourescent tubes which i really dont want to do.
But the light in this led fixture right now is extremly bright white, not soft to the eyes at all.

Well it seems we're all gunning for these as the best choice. I wish they made them in warm white (too many years in an office cubicle has made me abhor the bluish tinge of white LEDs). If anyone is willing to be the guinea pig do post pics.

http://www.rvledbulbs.com/category-s/46.htm

I ordered 3 different ones because I wasn't sure which one fit then returned the extra 2 when I ordered the rest. One was bad and they replaced it no questions asked. Really good to work with and fast delivery. Use the discount code AC15 for a 15% discount. They are bright but we only use them when we need bright so they're great for us.

krf9113,
As you can see, there are many sources for LED bulbs for your coach. I've done a bit of research, more than once and, have come up with the fact that if you compare bulb for bulb, apples to apples, lumens to lumens, quality for quality, the price is almost exactly the same, no matter where you buy them from. It actually comes down to just a few cents difference in quality bulb prices. You have some sources listed above and here's one more:
www.superbrightleds.com

Take your pick

I bought all my RV LED bulbs on Ebay for about 1/3 of what it costs elsewhere. These are a pack of 10, with 12 SMD 5050 LED's for $33.00 total....they are bright, and work great!

I blew one of my 20w G-4 halagen bulbs. In the time it took me to get the new one seated, my fingers were already burning. Switching to LEDs is a must for me. I aim to use G-4 disks in most applications. Can someone who has done this tell me if you lose much of the light when the difusser is put back on? Should I go with a higher lumen to compensate? Thanks.
