Adding Solar to 2010 View 24A

I am new to this site but have found excellent information so far.
I would like to install solar to our "new" 2010 View 24A.
I am not certain where to start and hope that someone here can direct me to how and what I need.
Thank you!

There are just a couple of parts needed for solar installation.

1. Solar Panel(s) with mounting hardware
2. Wiring from the roof to an area close to your House Batteries
3. A Solar Charge Controller to connect the panels to and then to wire from the controller to your batteries

That's all you need. There are probably thousands of websites and hundreds of YouTube channels on this type of install if you are doing the work yourself.

As per usual Amazon can sell you everything you need individually or in a "kit" form. But you should do some research and learn about all the different items and brands to make an informed decision before ordering.

If you want to pay to have a system installed there are a number of residential solar installers near you in Durango - but for RV specific installers you may have to travel to the Phoenix area. Though many independent RV techs can do this work too.

The toughest part is running the wires from the panels to the controller and from the controller to the house batteries. Lots of man hours involved.
Amsolar.com specializes in RV solar installations and also sells panels and parts. Another excellent installer is at Offthegridrvs.com and his Class B RV installations are the best I have seen.

I bought my last panels from Home Depot which were Renogy panels that were drop shipped to my house and from Newegg.com which drop shipped a Grape panel from the factory. Panel frame thickness varies and the feet and clips need to be for the specific thickness of the panel frame.

I have the two 100W panels put on by the people at Winnebago (crappy job in every respect) and added 100W ($124) and 190W ($235) panels.
