bjboles,
Before I answer your question, I need to ask one or two questions myself. The reason I'd like to ask these questions is, my daughter and son-in-law just bought an '04 Winnebago Journey 34H and they were lead to believe it had the CAT C-7 in it. It doesn't. It has the CAT 3126E in it. That, in and of itself, is not a big deal. They're basically the same engine with some minor improvements in the C-7 version.
Second, their 34H DOES NOT have the optional Dimensions 2000 Watt Inverter/Charger in it. It does have, a small, around 300 watt inverter in the switch box area cabinet, next to the TV in the front.
So, just to make sure we're on the same page, did yours come with the C-7 or the 3126E? I'm just curious on this. Second, does your coach have the optional Dimensions 2000 watt Inverter/Charger? If it does, then, to answer your question(s). Yes, you will have two, 4/0 battery cables, one positive and one negative, that go from the house batteries directly to the inverter/charger. But, the positive one will, or should, have a stop-over, at a 300 amp fuse, located in the battery compartment, directly above and to the right, of the house batteries. Ya kind-a have to get down and look up, to see that 300A fuse.
If you have that arrangement, you will also have another set of positive and negative cables leading away from those house batteries. Those cables should lead ALL THE WAY to the front of the coach, to the left front side where, they attach to bulk-head studs. From there, there will be leads that go to most or all of your 12VDC house needs. You might have parasitic leads that are attached to the house battery posts too. Some might be as small as 14GA or 12GA wires. Those are added by either the factory or previous owners.
I used to have (3) 12V junk Interstate batteries for house batteries. I changed them out to (4) 6V GC batteries within the first few months of ownership. And, my wiring is close to identical to yours.
