Thanks! Good luck with yours, too. This forum was a huge help to me, so I'd be happy to "pay it back" if I can assist in any way.

I guess I'm just not seeing how you got to your 50 amp service, I don't notice any wire that look like the 50 amps you need at the breaker box. Below I attached a pic that shows the 2 legs (black and red wires) connected to 50 amp breaker. From there you can see the 2 sets of breakers and what they run. If you could draw on your pic to show what was connected to give you this 50 amp service it might help, also at the ATS you should have 2 legs (again red and black wires going into the ATS from shore power cord and generator. If you look closely you'll see 4 wires from each line (shore power in, generator in and line out to breaker box) and each lines has 2 hots, red wire and black wire, then each neutral and then the ground.

Here are a few more updated photos, and I wrote on one to further explain what I was talking about.

Hi Jeff. Your project is one in which I have been seeking advice for several years. Have always been told it is not possible for various reasons (none of which I can remember at the moment). I have the same coach as you and will be interested in your progress on the project especially the problem you mentioned. Please keep us informed.

Sorry if I caused confusion. I did not see the rest of your messages and excellent photos to see that you finished the project. Thanks so much for the input. Now to decide if I have the guts to do mine......lol

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't responded to a few of the questions - I've been really covered up at work and at home. As far as the pictures, I hesitated to even post them because they were all the "before" pictures. By the time I finished, it was raining buckets and I was pretty tired. I'll take some pictures of the after-product.
Bill - it really wasn't that bad, other than pulling the cable.

The picture I submitted was the "before". I'll take a picture of the finished product and post it - might be next week.

I've pretty much decided to tackle this myself on my 2002 Itasca Suncruiser 35U since you've done all the hard work of figuring everything out. Given my track record, I don't think I can get it done in six hours. Too bad Winnebago didn't just run 6 gauge wiring in all the 35Us since they list the 50A as an option, the cost wouldn't have been that significant. I find it interesting that they use the term "Power cord 50 amp" in the option list instead of "50 amp service". It makes it sound like they didn't put in different internal wiring for the 50 amp option.
My biggest expense will be to replace my 30a built-n Progressive surge protector with a 50a version. Hopefully I can sell the 30a to one of my TT friends to offset the cost. I lost a microwave to a surge during a storm once and don't want to repeat the experience with something more expensive.
Thanks again for forging the trail and doing such a good job of documentation.

I look forward to seeing Jeff's after photos which should really help visualize the changes along with Winnebago's wiring diagrams.
I just looked at the wiring diagrams for my 2002 35U and they're pretty clear in showing the differences between the wiring for 30A vs. 50A service. Hopefully the diagrams for other models/years that had the 30A/50A option are as clear:

(30A is on pg2, 50A is on pg3)

What do you mean by "green bridge"? I'm a bit colorblind so I asked my wife if she saw anything green in the upper right and she didn't.
