2024 Vista NPF serious 12v issues

Our LED lights randomly turn on and off. It started at the switch panel - turning on the galley lights would cause the lounge lights to come on dimly. It's been progressing over the past 3 days (we are camping and on shore power). Last night the lights turned on while we were sleeping. This morning as I turned my USB fan off that was plugged into the USB outlet by the bed the lights flickered.

It's going on for service in a few days. Any thoughts on what might be causing this ?

Thanks ..... As RoseAnn Rosanna Danna said "it's always something!"

That sounds like you have a loose ground wire somewhere and it is grounding through something else. I would check the obvious places first, batteries, and converter, then start working through switches and fixtures.

Gosh I hope it's that simple. We are having it done under warranty and are super excited for our next trip 13 days after drop off.

Remember, you made an appt. to drop it off, not for repairs to begin immediately.
The process goes like this;
You make an appt to drop your RV off at the service dept.
They put your name on a list of RV's scheduled for diagnosis of what is wrong.
Your name reaches the top, they pull it into a bay and diagnose the problem.
Your RV is returned to the storage lot until parts arrive.
Your parts arrive and your name is put on a list of parts waiting to be installed
Your name reaches the top, they pull your RV in for repairs..
IF the parts are exactly what is needed to resolve the problem, repairs are made, and you are called to come get it.
If anything is amiss with parts, the process begins again.
That is the explanation the service manage told me at Camping World, and confirmed by a service manager at a different RV sales and service.
Hope I didn't burst your travel plans bubble.

It might also be true that you have a new system for lighting and it is highly likely that CW has nobody who is trained on working the new solid state computerized light modules!
I see them changing many many parts over many many weeks before telling you it is fixed or you just go away!

No burst bubbles here. We camp 2 weeks out of every month. The other 2 weeks the rig has been with the dealer for repairs. This has been going on since April 2024 when we bought the rig new.

We bought a Winnebago expecting high quality. SUPER disappointed. Every time we take her out something new needs to be fixed. She has spent 50% of her life at LazyDays RV service. LazyDays has been great, no complaints there.

I miss my Forest River micro light TT. Never had a single issue with her. And I thought I was upgrading ! Jokes on me.

I am still hopeful that LazyDays will find and fix the issue in the 2 weeks they will have it between trips

Hey JD,
Just to add to the doom and gloom. Lazy Days has a terrible reputation for warranty work. Hopefully, during the two weeks your RV is there they are actually doing something to your RV and not just letting it sit there.

Most of us will tell you that Winnebago is not by any means perfect but over time you'll appreciate the ways they are better than others.

It's extremely common, maybe even universal, that new motorhomes are sold with a list of problems from day one. Then, making things worse, the dealer support is so poor that it can make ownership seem more like a chore.

Many of us, are like your username "live and learn." We fairly quickly give up on the selling dealer and hunt around for independent repair places that operate on a more successful level. What about the warranty folks say?? Well, those that can afford it just jettison the Winnebago dealer and pay whatever it takes to get the RV fixed and usable rather than let it sit in the shop waiting for a "free" warranty repair that may never repair anything.

As a former Forest River motorhome owner I can attest to my 2015 Forester was the absolute worst quality RV I ever owned and I couldn't dump it at a loss fast enough. I'm glad you had good luck with your TT.

Here's hopping that things improve with your Vista NPF. Feel free to use us as a resource going forward to hopefully make things better.

Thanks Creativepart. So far LazyDays has been good to us. I have also found an independent that we used for the leak behind the shower wall (approved by Winnebago for reimbursement since the only thing we knew at the time was that the AC wasn't working and when it did work we found water in the floor).

I'm going to give LazyDays a shot at doing the right thing.

Time will tell if I am foolish (wouldn't be the first time I got burned)
