2015 Vista 36Y battery question

The house battery tray does not slide out. Currently has the four original NAPA Marine/RV batteries. Room for six batteries is available. It appears to me that the height limitation in the bay will prohibit installing/performing monthly maintenance on six Trojan T105's. Has any current 2015 Vista 36Y owners replaced the original batteries for true Deep Cycle 6 volt or 12 volt batteries and what Brand/Model?

Ref:
NAPA Marine/RV:
Height : 9 1/8"
Length : 13 1/8"
Width : 6 11/16" Height: 11.07
Length: 10.3
Width: 7.11

Any useful comments will be appreciated.

Thanks
Sam

We are thinking of adding a slide out tray to our 36Y. Have you tried to take out the step to service the chassis battery. We tried and couldn't get the step out. We were ate the dealer and asked him to show us how to take the step out, they couldn't either. Ended up they removed the switch box by the steps, trimmed the step down and put everything together again(under warranty).

Step removal

I have only unlatched and opened the step to look at the chassis battery. I'll check today and see if it is actually removable.

Trojan makes a watering system that can allow you to add water without accessing the tops of the batteries.

That said you will still need to periodically access the batteries to check and clean batteries.

Watering system

I did not know about the single-point watering system. I appreciate the info.

Limitations

Just for future info. I took a measurement in the battery bay. 12 5/8 of height to work with. Looks like that will limit my options when I replace my current original NAPA marine/rv batteries.

I hope someone answers this.

Has anyone replaced their batteries in the 2015 Vista 36Y yet. They are 3 year batteries and we are approaching 3 years next year so want to be prepared. We were at Sams and looked at the 6v batteries(which we would like to use). They sure look tall for the compartment. We hadn't measured anything but measuring is now on the list.

Is this going to be another challenge? Bad enough Winnie didn't put in a slideout for the batteries but to have the compartment so tight that it is difficult to get batteries that will fit is just poor design.................

The other challenge has been a pro-fil watering system for the batteries. None of the systems we have tried work on the current batteries.

I just purchased a 2015 36Y...my first ever RV. Yay me! Curious to hear of the step/battery cover problem...as I have exactly the same issue. The corrective action simply seems to be to trim/cut/sand/file...whatever, the step cover narrower? Would everyone agree?

Once you manage to get it out that is all you need to do.
