Winter camping in a 190RD Winnie Drop

Just purchased a 190RD Drop and rather than waiting until spring we were thinking about doing a winter trip in the more southern extremes of the Gulf coast and Florida to Texas. However, these areas experience freezing temps from time to time. Does anyone know of a mod that would allow carrying water in a trailer with exposed tanks? I know that I can do it "dry" but that will be very inconvenient. Any tricks out there?

Hi Glcory,
You will be down south, and if traveling during the day, the movement will keep the water from freezing. When stopped, you will be heating the trailer, should it be cold. I would imagine the fresh water tank will get heat from the interior of the trailer, and the grey & black tanks could have a dash of pink antifreeze added unto them, should you be concerned regarding an overnight cold snap. I believe you will be just fine.
Welcome to the Forum.

Even a hard freeze overnight will be no problem if the following day is above freezing.

We’re camping in Junction, TX right now. It’s been 25 degrees every night followed by 40’s during the day and we have had no problems.

Note: we filled our fresh water tank before we arrived 3-days ago and have not hooked up to the city water connection. With 20’s every night the hose would have likely frozen each night.
