Windshield Curtain Coming Off - pics

Hi, I recently noticed that one of the attachment points for my windshield curtain was broken. This, of course, allowed a "loop" of loose material which is how I noticed it. We've always been careful with them, never yanking them so it may just be wear and tear.

In any case, any suggestions on how to reattach it? Originally it was riveted through the backing material and therefore didn't show through on the interior. I guess if I were to remove the whole curtain, a seamstress may be able to do something with it. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

I'm not certain what I'm looking at but I'm guessing that pop-rivets may be required. Available at most hardware stores in various lengths.

Upinsmoke, from your picture it doesn't look like the rivet popped out of the metal part. That part is riveted to a plastic strip that is sewn into the curtain. It looks like the plastic strip broke away. Those plastic strips with the part you show are available online from several places. Search online for RV curtain glide tape. A seamstress would be able to repair that with a new segment of glide tape.

Thanks for the info on the tape. I was easily able to find it in multiple places on line.

However, the removal part hasn't been as easy. It appears there is a phillips screw on the end closest to the center of the windshield and it looks like removing that would allow all of the "glides" to come right off, except, the other end is fixed.

All of the videos and forums talked about everything but that part. I may be able to just pry the last (fixed) one off like the one pictured in the original post, but if someone has done it, there might be a better way.
Thanks

On my 2003, the opposite end (by the driver's or passenger's shoulder) was also fixed. I was able to pry it off by carefully grabbing the bottom edge of of the little white clip in your photo and pulling it towards me and up. Be careful though, if the track breaks you will have a much bigger problem.

Actually, I would unclip it very frequently so that I could slide the curtain toward the front windshield for privacy but have the driver's or passenger's side uncovered with the window open for ventilation.

You will need to replace the entire strip that is sewn onto the curtain. I ordered mine online from Curtain-Tracks.com
RECMAR 2097 Sew In Glide Tape - White - Sold by the Yard

The newly ordered tape is better quality.

rdbrugger46 thanks, it does look like better quality, I've saved the site. Did you install it yourself or have someone do it? Doing it ourselves, while preferred, may be beyond our knowledge base.

Windshield Curtain

I will be doing it myself when I get the tape. There is a screw on the backend of each side of the track that you have to take out to slip curtains off the track. Then it is just a matter of snipping of the old tape and sewing on the new.

The other ends of each side are riveted. I drilled out the rivets and then the metal plate piece pried loose with a flat head screw driver as it is painted in. You can later put the plates back together with a short small self drilling metal hex screw.
