Window shade on door sticking

I have read on another post that I can lubricate the shade on the door of my 2015 Itasca Sunstar 27N. I took the shade casing off, but can't remove the end caps. How do you get them off to access the shade?

Looks identical to the shade on our Forza and we had the same problem. After removing the shade from the door I just sprayed silicone on both ends of the shade from the back side. It not longer stick and rolls up and down easily.

Hope this helps Bruce

I'll try that on mine. The shade is built like a dirt collector. I deep cleaned mine with the vac last week. I think it would work better mounted at the top. There must be a reason it is as it is. One I can think of is if it got stuck opened you would have no view out the door when driving.

I replace my fixed screen with a removable on a couple of weeks ago. Will find out Friday is it was worth the effort. I find looking through the screen when at an intersection very distracting.

I used a small thin flat blade screwdriver. They do extend in a bit. Patience is needed as you probe the caps to get them to start lifting.

Had the same blnd issue on my Itasca Cambria when this was first posted but generator problem dominated my “fix it” list. I gave up on trying to remove the end caps and went with LizandBruce’s suggestion of spraying the roller ends - after cyclying the shade a number of times it snaps back up nicely. Only other suggestion is to spray with the shade rolled fully unrolled - now I have to figure out how to remove the stains caused by the lubricant I used.
