Wheel cover removal

Hi all - quick question: how do I remove the wheel covers from the rear axle of my 2021 Winnebago Adventurer motorhome?

I thought that I could remove the two bolts that held the wheel covers on and the covers would just pop off. They appear to be attached to something else and won’t easily be moved.

I feel like I’m missing something easy - can anyone help? Many thanks in advance for your suggestions!

PS: more context: I’m trying to install a TPMS bit on the outside tire valve, but the valve is not easily reachable through the wheel covers. Removing them would make the job easy. Hence my difficulty.

I did this on my 2020 Vista, and it should just be the 2 nuts on each of the wheel covers. I was able to do it that way, and they just came off. You say bolts, but it is the 2 "different looking" lug nut simulators that will turn and come off.

This is what mine look like. There are two of these with dimples on them on opposing sides of the simulator hub caps that need to be removed. The other ones are dummies.

Right - I got those bolts off but the wheel cover remained firmly in place. What am I missing?

For me it was just grabbing the wheel cover by the large holes where you access the tire stem, and pulling. They can be a bit tight.

As I recall, they have tensioners built into the inner diameter of the hub cap, that's sort of spring loaded. If you have those two dimpled nuts off, pull harder.

on my 99 vectra.you remove those 2 odd ball caps and then there are regular nuts that the caps were stuck too. mine came with a tool its a t handle on one end and a socket on the other.put the socket on the nut and wiggle to get off then take tool to the nut that the cap was stuck too.
