I've had chipmunks fill my aircleaner with acorns. Rodents are attracted to warm engines in cold climates. The really bad part is that some wire insulation and tubing contain soy, which rodents love to chew on.

Wow! That’s impressive! I had a carefully constructed pile of acorns on top of my car’s battery one year. These little guys are industrious.
