Vista 32YE Seal your tail lights!!!

2018 Vista 32YE

Do yourself a favor and check the sealant around your tail lights!!
Or better yet.. just reseal them even if they look ok like mine did...
The tail lights are in the back wall of the bedroom and if they leak the wall will get wet and the paper will bubble !!
Go ahead , ask me how i know!!!
Lets just say the factory seal job was less than adequate!!!

I had to cut the wall paper, peel it back , dry it out and then re-glue the paper back down.. looks ok but still pissed!!

I have the same year/model and just replaced the rear lights. I did not have a problem with water getting behind the lights but had the lights failing because of water getting inside the lights. The lights that Winnebago used are from Command Electronics and they have a sealed LED light that matches the footprint of the original. They were not cheap (x2 the price of the originals) but they should last. Both the original and new lights have a foam gasket behind them with no caulking. When I installed the new ones I used a bead of caulk in addition to the gasket. The original lights are a common problem point on all Vistas not just the 32YE.

I used clear RTV silicone , and although it looks like it is holding up well it gets dirty. It seems to hold dust and dirt and gets a dull dirty looking appearace as opposed to a clear/clean looking one. It doesnt clean up either.
