UV protectant for roof?

I have 2015 class c with fiberglass roof. Can you use a spray and wipe uv protectant on the roof after you clean? Cannot find any info in manual.

I'd imagine you can do that but I don't have any real proof. I went to the boat store and bought some cutter/wax and waxed mine the last time I was up there cleaning. I was starting to get the white streaks and wanted to get some of the oxidization gone. Haven't had any recently but now that summer is coming to an end it may be time for me to do it again.

Mine looks like it may be oxidizing also. Wanted to keep it in as good a condition as I can. I am in the Southeast and we have been baking here!

I waxed it while we were in FL for the winter and are currently in SoCal. Will be in AZ for the winter this year so I知 thinking I値l be doing it again during that time. It helped greatly!

I use 303 on my roof 2 to 3 times a year. It is highly recommended.

They say to do it twice a year but I do mine about once a year. I just bought an RV roof cleaner on Amazon and a long brush. Was pretty easy to do.

I purchased 303 Protectant through Amazon. I thought I would use more than a gallon, but the additional spray bottle covered it twice. The 303 is recommended for boats and airplanes as well.

SPF 100 solar protection lotion

Just kidding but seriously please please be careful around the edges of the roof, many have a pliable (flexible) round curve at the edge which is yea backed with Styrofoam!! inserts multiple pieces make that radius curve. Then the edge is tucked in and caulked. Also once cleaned and waxed the top may be very slick so again caution, basket ball shoes worked well for us, even when it was wet. We used the spray on when wet bit but for good measure I rubbed it into the pores if any!

Also while doing the waxing or protecting do check the seam with the metal edge if needed re caulk it or use eternabond tape.

Else you may have the roof edge flapping or worse. Been there done that, we were able to collect the pieces of foam that dislodged! Took some doing but thankfully the grass along the road was cut and so we could see all the foam pieces, some were caught by the fence at the edge of the highway as well.

All the best.

I coated my RV roof with Henry's Tropi-Cool 887 100% silicone paint. It's amazing and also lowered inside temps 20 degrees average. It works on metal, fiberglass, and all rubber roofs. It's sold by Home Depot. It's pricey but worth every penny. It's lasted 5 years so far and still looks great.

This may sound simplistic, ... I have a sailboat constructed of fiberglass ... why not get an epoxy based marine grade paint and give it a coat or two... works for us sailors ...

If the surface is very clean and smooth you can use a product called "touchless sealant"- made by Protect all. Just follow the directions and you'll be done in about 20 minutes.

I wax 2X a year.

I bought a Ryobi 18V buffer and i used a marine High UV protectant liquid wax made by 3M, I wheel it on with a yellow cleaning auto detailing pad that removes any white oxidation, wipe off with a cloth and it leaves a nice shiney seal.

For those of you who use 303, do you use a handheld spray bottle to apply it?
Thanks!

That痴 what I use, so I can get all the parts (antennas, etc.) on the roof. I知 careful not to spray the solar panels, however, because I want the UV rays to hit them! It痴 very easy to apply and wipe off. A little goes a long way. I値l be applying my spring 303 treatment next week!

Sure you can. I use a wash and Wax detergent, with a few agents in it. But I don't buff anything, I just get on that roof 6x a yr and wash it with that stuff. You won't catch me buffing 380 sq ft of anything at my age. LOL.
