The recliner in our 2004 Journey will need to be replaced (or reupholstered) in the near future because we are finding stuffing underneath the chair.

The entrance door is 27" wide ...

Have any of you replaced your recliner / Euro chair with something that would fit through a 27" door? If you have would you mind sharing the name of the supplier?

Thanks,

We replaced our recliner with a small Euro chair that we bought from JC Penny. The recliner was more difficult to get out than the new chair. We had to remove the recliner's pedestal to get it thru the MH door.

We took the recliner out of our '05 Meridian without any problems. It took two of us. We just turned it on its side and it went right out the door.

John Mc...

What did you replace it with?

And where did you buy it?

Thanks

Most lazy boy brand recliners have latches that allow the back of the recliner to come off for easy moving.

We have a very large Ekornes Euro lounger and a Lane Euro lounger. Both went in the door with no problem. Took the recliner sofa and J-lounge out the door with no problem. Bought both chairs at furniture stores.

SkiGramp,

Actually, we took the recliner out to make room for my wife's 36 string folk harp that we carry everywhere we go.

The old recliner came out with ease and in one piece. We got the replacement, a FlexSteel Captains Chair, at Camping World. It was no problem going through the door and bolting it down was no problem. It is nice to not have to deal with the oversized chair anymore and have another belted riding position that reclines. It works much better with the fold down table also.

I replaced my stock recliner in my '00 Journey with a La-Z-Boy. Choose a smaller one; back comes off to make it easier to fit thru the door.

I chose a pedestal base (swivel); the hoop from the old recliner fit it perfectly.

We removed the Winne recliner easily...took the hoop off the bottom, turned the chair sideways and it went out the door. It was replaced with this euro-type recliner which we ordered from a vendor on E-Bay:
