Summary of your modifications

It's been over a year since I bought our 2018 Vista 32YE. I've made so many modifications and additions to the rig, I thought I would to summarize the changes, just to keep track of things. It wasn't until I finished the list that I realized that we seem to be a bit picky how we need our rig equipped. I'm wondering if others are doing this much, or is this just me? Please let me know if I'm nuts or not.... Do you guys have a list of your mods?

Here's my drawing. You may need to click it to read everything.

Very nice! I listed all our mods on our registry page in this forum. Like your putting everything on your floor plan. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Gonna flatter ya!

I like how you used the floor plan to list what you did, and where.

I did a video, to help others, and nice to have for insurance purposes. I posted it on the forum here...

This is great! Thanks John. When you get a chance, can you send info on the convenience rack you installed for you glasses, phone etc? I've been looking for a solution to the nightstand problem.

Where did you find Ford mud flaps for the Vista? Did you install them yourself?

That is very cool. I do a lot of modifications to our rig and would like to keep track as you did. May I ask what program you used to insert the information on the floor plan?
Thank you in advance.

Could you tell me what you had to do to add the fan? I would be afraid that we would cut into duct work or wiring.

Sorry for the late response, We've been on the road a lot this year.

Attached is a photo of the nightstand rack I made for our Vista 32YE. It's been working really good. I no longer bump my earbuds onto the floor in the middle of the night when I get up to pee

The 50A connector is a Marinco 50 external landline connector. I didn't like the 50A cord stored in the dump station. There wasn't enough room IMO, and if you wanted to close the compartment door, it was a hassle feeding such a large cord through the small hole in the floor that was provided. I don't know what Winnebago was thinking. It appears the designers never use the RV's they design, because the AC cord was clearly not "thought out" very well.

I simply cut the OEM cord off, leaving about 6' on the rig. I took the end of that 6' and ran it through I hole I drilled in the dump station housing, toward the back. The cord was long enough to reach right next to the gas filler, which is where I installed the connector.

Now I store the cable separately in another compartment that has adequate space, along with my fresh water hose.

This nice part of being able to detach the shoreline cable from the rig is when I'm at home. I typically leave the rig plugged into a 20A circuit on my property to keep things charged, and providing AC when I'm working inside the RV on a hot day. But when I want to take the rig somewhere quick, say to get gas or propane, I simply unplug the cord from Marinco connector on the RV and lay it on the ground, leaving the other end of the cord connected to 120V, ready for when I return. I no longer have to roll up the shoreline cord for quick trips with the RV. I really like that convenience.

I got the floorplan image from the Winnebago website. I simply used a photo editor to annotate the image with text and lines. I use Paint Shop Pro, but there are many others, depending on your computer (Apple of PC).

That's a great idea and would work on my 35U. I'm bookmarking this one.
