Suburban Furnace Not Working
Hi Everyone,
I need some help. We bought our motor home in May and used it a few times during the summer. We only needed to use the bedroom heater once in Montana, and it worked fine. We are temporarily living in our coach while we do some remodeling to our new house. Of course, now that we need it, our Suburban bedroom heater won't start at all. If I remember correctly, it would turn on by simply sliding the switch on the separate Suburban thermostat located in the control panel on the wall as you enter the bath area. I slide it to "warmer" and nothing happens. Could it be a fuse or breaker problem? Is it just operator error? Since it's our temporary home, I can't take it to be serviced. The main heater is keeping us from freezing, but it would be nice to have option of using the bedroom heater, as well. Thank you for your help!

Do you hear the fan come on?
Power comes from a breaker in the 12V breaker Panel.

No fan. Nothing. Do you mean the breakers that you access from outside, just ahead of the left front wheel? If so, I've looked at those and don't see any obvious signs of any being tripped.

Thank you for the picture. It helped me to find the breaker panel. Mine is located in a hidden panel under the rear bed. Unfortunately, the breaker for the rear furnace wasn't tripped. I pressed the button, but nothing happened.
Anyone have any other ideas?

The next easy check would be the thermostat. If you have a volt meter check for 12VDC at thermostat. Wire BBZ is the power feed from the breaker and wire JB is the call for heat going to the heater. A quick check would be to jumper across the two wires at the thermostat after that it gets a little deep.
Good Luck!

Unfortunately, I don't have a meter, but I'll see if I can get one and try what you recommended. Thank you for your help!

Try opening the cover on the outside of the heater there could be a circuit breaker there.

Well, there was no breaker outside by the furnace, just one under the bed, but it hadn't been tripped.
I removed the cover to the thermostat and messed with the wires, cleaning contacts, etc. That didn't work. Finally, I jumped two wires with a paper clip and it worked! Apparently, the thermostat is bad, so a new one is on its way. Hopefully, that will be the answer to the problem, as it's getting into the 30's at night! Thank you, everyone who responded, for your help!

Yup, the thermostat was the problem. A new one was installed and the furnace is working great!
Thanks again to all who chimed in to help.
