Slide out mishap

I was retracting one of the rear slides and as it was almost in I heard 4 pop pop pop pop sounds. Turns out that somehow a hairbrush fot caught up underneath the slide and must have pushed it off the track a bit. Now it will not close all the way and sticks out about 2 inches. Functions normally besides not fully retracting. Any ideas on how to fix this? I am attaching a picture. I dont know why it displays sideways.

Is it possible that something else is still caught in there under the slide out?

My guess is perhaps the motor jumped a few gear teeth. Probably need to disengage the motor & re-align the slide then reengage the motor.

The entire slide needs to be re-synced with the drive motor and gearing.

Get a manual of your specific slide and follow the instructions OR take it to a reliable slide technician and have them do the deed.

Where are you now located?

For the rear passenger slide on this 35b, anyone know where the drive motor is located?

I'm guessing that you have Schwintek slides but I could be wrong.

On my 2016 Sightseer Power Gear slides there are two motors. I believe that the motors are located inside the wall near the topmost gear track.

While at the GNR in Forest City our bedroom slide failed to fully retract. The slide came in slow and crooked. Winnebago said that the motor came loose from the housing. Winnebago replaced the rearmost slide mechanism under warranty .

Safe travels. JD

There is a good RV repair center in Maryland

https://www.annapolisrv.com/rv-parts/

They can get you fixed correctly. They are in Grasonville
off RT 50 on the Eastern Shore.

Let us know how its worked out. you should be good after running it in and out multiple times and re-sync itself. I've marked my lower slide tracks with a marking pen so I know for sure they are all the way in.

The large slide on right side 16' comes out at the bottom 1"-2" while driving. Winnebago said that's life as the motors have no internal brake. Cannot reach rear of slide from inside coach to secure manual slide lock, just keep an eye on outside mirror, cross fingers.

Don't have our manual here but we had an issue when one of the motors became unplugged. Was able to sync the slides by removing the control, holding a button on the back and by pushing either the in or out button move one slide motor at a time.

You may be able to move the end that sticks out by itself to get them both in all of the way.

I have the huh system so I don't know if your system uses the plastic guide/slide blocks. Have you checked to see if some of these broke or fell out? Could possibly account for something like this.

I cannot tell by your picture - is the bottom OUT and the top is in flush?

if this is the case, you have jumped gear teeth on the bottom gear and this cannot be 'fixed' by running the slide in/out(resyncing) since the slide tracks are now out of alignment. This requires either to disengage the gear/rod system in the wall to realign, or replace the gear/rod column itself.

Ours had this same thing happen, even after 38,000 miles and hundreds of successful in/out runs over 1 1/2 years. No reason why, nothing under the bunks/slide, nothing to create any type of binding- weird. But, yes, 'pop, pop, pop!!' was what we heard.

We drove the coach for many, many miles from then until we could get into the factory in Wakarusa for a replacement - took 'um only until lunch to get it totalled replaced.

Yup Mistert. Sounds exactly like whats happening here. The top is flush, the bottom in out about 2 inches.
