Slide Out Awning Flap

I continue to have an issue where the Pin (not sure what this is called) holding my slide out awning to the coach wiggles it’s way out. Since the pin slides out about 2 feet, the awning corner then is flapping.

Any tricks for keeping this Pin in place?
Any tricks for driving the Pin back in?

Thank you

Sorry, but I'm having trouble visualizing what you mean by a "pin". Is it the part that connects to the side of the camper or the part on the corner of the slide by the roller?

Sorry. I mean when you insert the awning fabric into the rail on the coach, there is a nylon rod (pin) that holds the fabric to the RV. Hope that better describes it.

I think that stuff is called poly-tube or poly-rope. It is a long plastic tube that goes inside the fabric and then the fabric/poly-tube slide into the metal rail on the side of the camper. Is that the stuff? On mine there is a small screw on each end of the fabric in the metal rail that keeps the fabric/poly-rope from moving. A&E callls them Tek Screws.

Yes. That’s it. And I must be missing the screw. Perfect, I’ll add the screw.

Anybody have a trick for driving the poly tube in? It is tough and not much access to get to the end of the poly tube via metal rail.

The metal rail should have a slot in it. I would first soak the whole slot with the fabric in it with silicone spray to lube it up. Then you need two ladders and a helper. The helper holds the edge of the fabric taut and relieves some of the tension on the roller. I would use a large flat blade screwdriver perpendicular to the slot to push the poly-tube. Maybe lightly tap on the screwdriver with a small hammer to get the tube moving. If the tube sticks out by two feet, you might be able to get the first 18 inches started by hand first.
In my experience, if the slot is fairly clean it should work without too much trouble. Good luck!
