What product do you use to lube the slides? How often do you do it? And...do you just lube the rams or is there a way to get at the gears to lube them? Thanks for the input. I am slowly making my way through my long list of winter maintenance.

I may be overstepping my knowledge bucket, but HWH says not to do that. I know they sell slideout lube spray, but if you speak to HWH they suggest you just leave them alone. They are all nylon fittings and if you use anything it should be just pure silicone.

what about the rubber flaps and gasket...would you lubricate or coat them to keep them from dry rotting?

Also I have heard some people lubricate or undercoat near the slides, underneath to prevent the nuts and bolts of it from rusting...I agree with the actual internal and bushing part...hwh and manual says leave it alone.

I spray ALL the rubber seals on the
slide with 303 protectant. That is what
Fleetwood recommends. Winnie??? TENN.

I was told by Forest City factory service to only use corn starch to lubricate the rubber slide seals. I don't think this would help for U/V protection but it does do a good job of lubricating them.

Pat,

You mean to dust them with powdered corn starch from DW's kitchen, or is there a special lubricant made for the slides?
