Slide Care 2019 Outlook?

I have read the posts concerning slide care/lube. Pretty evenly split from either dry silicone or just keep clean. So my new to me motorhome has a what I feel is a little grinding in the slide. Maybe just paranoid here. I can see the bars on the side of the slide. If silicone is used do you only spay the bars or at the actual gear and the how far behind the rubber seal is the gearing? Also is there anyting to do on the bottom of the slide.

Thanks,

Kevin
