I keep my motor home in a local covered storage facility with 30 amp power available. Is it okay to keep the refridgerater running in the electic mode while stored. We try to use it ever 3 weeks or so and keeping it running would keep us from removing all of the things like mayo, mustard, butter, etc..everytime we return from a weekend trip.

Go for it! I see no reason why you shoudn't run your 'fridge in storage. The only issue is frost buildup, but we all know how to deal with that.

My fridge has been running since I picked it up from the dealer 26 months ago. Norcold 1200.

Is the 30amp service surge guard protected? If not, I'd recommend you protect the MH just in case.

The best $300+ you'll spend at Camping World!! It's saved our coach many times from low voltage. It shuts everything down. Someone, somewhere has probably posted instructions/suggestions on Surge Guard.

I'm sure others with electrical expertise will explain it more fully but simply stated a surge guard will protect your MH from any type of problem coming from the power source such as spikes, surges and other nasty things that could happen.
Without this protection you could damage every piece of electrical equipment in your MH. The surge guard can either be hard wired to your MH or portable. Some just protect from spikes while others will also protect from high/low voltage.
IMHO the bottom line is to use some sort of surge guard whenever or wherever (including at home)you plug it in.
