Roof Radius Cracks in the Filon - 2017 Vista LX 27N

Found a few roof cracks. Going over them with sealant. May not be best repair method but hope it works. We don’t walk on roof except inspect and or repair. Is there a way to seal whole roof or do we just fix as we go?Click image for larger version

I have some of those as well. It could be from movement and chassis flex but I tend to think it's from hitting low hanging branches.

In my mind the two fixes are either to apply Eternabond tape over the cracks... or apply epoxy and fiberglass matting to reinforce the Filon where the crack is.

I plan on doing the Fiberglass repair next Spring. I need to do the whole roof radius caulking task then.

I found a local guy that will come to the house and spray paint small areas and then buff them out. I had a small, deep gouge in my front passenger fender. I planned to just live with it but had him fill it and paint it and it looks brand new. And he doesn't charge much at all.

Your roof radius is white, so Eternabond tape may be perfect. Mine is painted on the roof radius a dark gray. So, that white tape would not look good. I've done a little fiberglass repair work in my day so I plan to fix that crack with fiberglass mat and then have the painter touch that up. I have clear coat sun damage up there so I'll have him fix all of that then too.

A couple years ago I had two cracks in the filon edging. I ended up using fiberglass patch material.

I drilled small holes in each end of the cracks, prepared the area per fiberglass instructions. Put the figerglass used extra amount of rosin to try and smooth application out. Patch is still holding well, I would use fiberglass again if and when needed.

I have used Crystal Clear Gorilla Tape for minor short cracks in the Filon where it curves around the radius. Stays clear does not yellow and it has held up for well over 5 years for me. I have also used 4" Eternabond on the roof over the front cap caulk seam and it works well too but since you see the curved part of the roof from the ground the clear tape has better appearance.
