Hi Folks,

How does one (and does one need to) inspect the roof edge seal under the passenger-side awning. Do you have to remove the awning to do so? (I hope not!)

Hi Chris

Everything I have read about inspecting roof edge seals is where the roof material goes behind the metal gutter, which is above the awning. The Eternabond post on this forum covers that inspection and there are some pictures on that post. Hope this helps with your question, Jim Bob

Here's what JimBob is saying....the awning is clearly "below" the roof edge.

No, the roof edge is down even with the red and white warning label on the awning support. The white to body color transition on the roof is just a paint line, not the edge.

I see what you mean Chris. Your awning is above the roof seam. I can't help with an answer as my coach has a different set up. I think they call it OLD. good luck

Just to answer my own question, I found that if you open the awning a few feet you can in fact get to the roof edge seam. A small mirror might be helpful to look down into the J-channel, however.
