Roof Antenna Amplifier

Hi Guys,
I have a 2006 Winnebago Adventurer 38J. I have replaced all my TV's to digital and am looking for the location of Roof Antenna Amplifier Plate. When I go to antenna on my video switcher, it shows as "No signal" . I need to find the Roof Antenna Wall Plate Amplifier. I cannot find it anywhere. I want to make sure it is working properly. Does anyone know where it is located? Thanks..Charlie

You should have one tv outlet that has a 12v plug next. nest to the coax fitting should be switch that turns on the booster (small black button should also have a green or red light). Hope that helps.

I have the same rig...

What plate are you referring to? To the best of my knowledge the amp was in the switching unit, last button on the left. Maybe I'm wrong?

Roof Antenna Amplifer

It's starting to make sense. The way I'm understanding you guys is that the ampliefier is in the existing video switcher. There is a power button there but when I push it on, nothing happens. I will check and see if I'm getting 12vdc there. If I am and it does not work, I'm assuming the video controller is trashed..

Don't rule out coax connections from the antenna to the switch. Also, for the most part, many folks report a major signal strength drop from the switch to the back room TV. If you see that, maybe an inline amp after the switch might be in order.

Fuse?

I had the same problem. It turned out to be a blown 12v in-line fuse.

You mentioned a video switcher.. Is this a box with many save for the two on the left they are grouped something like this MAIN TV, VCR, TV2 TV3

And in each group (With one exception, no VCR button in the VCR group) they sat something like CABLE, SAT, VCR, TV/ANT, DVD, AUX

The two buttons on the left are POWER and Chan3/4

The power switch is the one you need to turn on.

Hwere is where I'm at. I have 12vdc going into the video controller however, when I push the power button, the led does not light up. I took the back of the controller off and found that I do not have 12vdc going out. I cannot find a fuse in the controller anywhere inside. I'm suspecting I have a bad controller. All ideas appreciated..charlie

The amplifier is located in the roof antenna. The amp is turned on by the switch on your video distribution center.

If your red light does not turn on you most likely have no power going to your video distribution switch center.

Roof Antenna Amplifier

Here is where I'm at. 12vdc is present going into video controller, no red or green light when I turn the off on switch, cable from roof antenna to the back of controller checks good I guess the controller is trashed. Motorhomes are nice when they are parked..

Ah you have power into the switch, but no power out.

ODDS are.. Bad switch.

Suggestion, If you can find the fuse that feeds it, or otherwise cut the 12 volt to it (Use the battery disconnect for example) cut power to the switch.

Cycle the switch several dozen times (IE: 50 to 100 times)

Re-connect power and see if it works now.

Dirty switches are very common, epically in switches that do not carry a lot of current and are not often switched.
