Right rear turn signal

The turn signal bulb burned out on my 1999 Chieftain. Does the bulb sit in a holder that has to be twisted or just pulled out? I removed the lens and grabbed the bulb holder and the plastic holder was so brittle that a piece broke off. Trying to know how it needs to come off so I don’t damage it further. Thanks for any knowledge you may share.

I believe they twist and pull. You should be able to look at the parts list for the style of bulb required.

Saw a friend spend many hours trying to replace a turn signal housing because of similar problems. I wound up spraying with WD40 and letting it sit for an hour and removed the now broken lamp with a pair of needle nose pliers.

He wasn't able to get a factory replacement so he fixed up his old one best he could but with the internal corrosion of the bulb housing I don't think it will last all that long. I hope you have better luck.
