Replacement Window for Door

2015 Minnie Winnie 2101DS TT

Anyone here have experience with installing a window replacement for the door? Pros, Cons, or tips? Ours is currently the factory installed translucent glass. I am looking to replace with the dark tinted integrated shade item below:

AP Products 015-201512 Slim Shade Door Window Upgrade

Tks

Be aware Winnebago makes their own entry doors and you should make the door window is not a Winnebago specific size and shape.

I’d measure it and go ahead if it looks like it will fit. Ours has the dark tinted window and shade unit (from the factory). I seem to recall seeing YouTube videos that cover the installation process. I briefly considered this project on my previous trailer.

The Winnebago travel trailers are not nearly as bespoke as the motorized units (most things are purchased from traditional vendors just like other trailer manufacturers).

I installed one on my 2020 Vita, love the tinted glass and shade, was easy and took about 30 minutes being very careful.

I’ve decided to hold off on this purchase due to concerns over the quality of the shade itself. This should be an easy remedy for the manufacturer if they choose to address it.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

Personally, I would probably go for the tinted window without the pull-down shade. You won't be able to open/close the shade without opening the door since the screen door will block access to it.

I shattered my tinted door window while using my weed whacker too close to the RV. I took out the old window frame and removed all the broken glass. I then ordered a piece of smoke colored Lexan to the same size with radiused corners from an online custom plastic place. I then put the plastic in with lots of mastic and resealed the frame when I installed it in the door. You can't tell it's not glass and this one won't break. Saved about $300 by doing it myself.

Door window with built in shade

I was very interested in replacing my hazy door window with one of those. There are none made to fit my 2008 Journey. Also, you do have to open door to adjust due to screen door. Plan to stick with darker tint replacement by Winnebago.
