Rear cap removal 2010 Journey 34Y
I am trying to remove the rear cap on my 2010 Journey 34Y. I removed all the screws from the trim molding from the outside, however. There seems to be something holding the molding on from the inside of the cap. I have no idea how to reach them. Has anyone encountered this issue?
Thanks in advance.

No experience with that job but I might referryou to some info showing "rear cap install" which seems it might be good stuff???
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...y_exterior.pdf
Down about page 27 if looking at the PDF numbering at the top of computer screens.
From there I would assume there would also be a sealer of some type which likely has a death grip on things?

I have a 2017 Adventurer and I clipped a pole in my storage lot and popped the rear cap loose. The Adventurer and Journey are similar but not the same.
My rear cap was held on on the sides by the screws behind the vinyl trim molding on both sides, under the molding on the roof where the cap is affixed to the roof and from two supports on the back of the cap that were secured by bolts into fixtures epoxied into the rear cap fiberglass.
On mine these fixtures could be reached by removing the plate where the license plate was attached and reaching into the space behind the cap.
My rear cap broke the epoxy holding the cap to the body and removed all the screws on the sides of the RV but was still hinged at the top where the cap met the roof.
I don't have any good photos of the space behind the cap - here's all I have. It's not much help I'm sure:

No experience on yours either, but when do doing research for some end cap work of my own, I came across this from the AZ Expert:
He mentions that he puts a bead of silicone across the top... ?
Cheers,

That’s exactly what happened to me. I was moving to a new sport with more space. On the way out I nabbed the back cap.
Thanks for the reply

My repair cost $24,000! OUCH!
Insurance paid it all. National Indoor RV Center in Lewisville (Dallas) did the repair and it looks perfect even after 3-years.

My insurance company is not helping at all! (right now) They claim it was in the storage lot, and it is not covered for collision, even though it's fully covered, it makes zero sense. So that fight has just started.

Who's your insurance company? Progressive was super proactive and took care of everything. I thought it was $6,000 worth of damage. Progressive said they thought $12,000 worth and then NIRV came up with $26,000 estimate. In the end they charged $24,000 and waived my deductible. Progressive didn't flinch.
They did double my premium the next year, but then lowered it by 25% in year three. At my current rate it will take 13.5 years for them just to recoup the $24,000.
And this doesn't include the 2-Catalytic Converters they've paid for in the past 2-years.

I have National General. We've had them for 4 years and no claims. To say I'm unhappy is an understatement. I should have just used USAA. I did manage to get the cap back under the trim molding. Now its fiberglass work.

National General... that's Good Sam isn't it?
At the time I got my motorhome USAA didn't offer motorhome insurance, they said they could act as a broker and sell Progressive insurance. So, I had the FMCA Insurance Brokerage get me a policy, again with Progressive, and it was less expensive.
A "collision" is a collision whether it's in a storage facility or your driveway or on a highway. Wonder what justification they offer for rejecting your claim? Unless they have written something into the contract to exclude storage facilities I can't see how they can refuse the claim.

I received a letter from the insurance company today. Now it’s under review. What they originally said made absolutely no sense. I’ll be changing companies regardless of what happens here. Thanks for your reply
