PTL door adjustments and repair

Today I had a bit of time between projects. I have had some minor issues with the entrance door so I thought I would take a look see. I went to the PTL site and found this very useful information: How To... - PTL Engineering

First, I adjusted the handle pull throw. The door is easier to open with a shorter pull distance. Next I adjusted the latch bolt.

The How to for the "Mov-a-bolt" door striker is very good. But it does lack some info. Following the instruction did help me set the door closing to a more practical level. I now have the soft close feature working and I don't have to slam the door any more to get it to close. A couple of things I noted that are overlooked from the video. It did not advise taping the star adjusters again or that there could be shim washers behind the large washer. I cleaned and lubed the striker mechanism with my favorite CRC w/PTF spray. I cleaned surface with some paint thinner, dried it well and used some thin packing tape to keep the adjusters in place. I tested the door and readjusted as needed. All went well.

I also took a look at the door holder bar. I had the wrist pin break soon after I bought the coach (used). I replaced it with a small "elevator" bolt. (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-2-C...-Bolts/3723270). I needed to cut it down to clear the door jam. I had to tighten it today. While looking things over I noticed that the spring clip, that helps to keep the door open, was compressed. I used a flat blade screwdriver to pry the clip open some. I doubt this will last long but it is helping for the moment. I would like to find a spring like it to pop in to replace this. Any suggestion?

I know questions have been asked about replacing the acrylic panel in the screen door. The How-to's cover this very well.

Hope this info helps. Happy trails.
Rick
