Problem with flag poles
I use my flagpole for a duel purpose. I love to fly the Stars & Stripes and I use the mast as a mounting for my WeBoost cell phone amp.
I had a telescoping fiberglass pole for a while. It broke in a strong wind gust. I sent it back for a free repair. That didn't work very well because the repair section would not collapse.
One day a RVing friend of mine told me of the Harbor Freight telescoping flagpole. We headed over to HF and found one on sale. I don't recall what I payed for it. It is very nice and seems well built. I did a modification to the pole receiver by putting a 1/12" PVC pipe reducer in one end. This became the bottom. I mounted it on my ladder with 2 stainless steel band clamp. This was several weeks after I bought the pole. It was resting on the ground budgied to the ladder. Now with the pole in the receiver I have the budgie securing it at the top of the ladder.
Time will tell if it will continue to stay put. I have not mounted the amp antenna yet because we are not at this location for long. I thing I will have to use another band clamp to secure the mast to the ladder to keep it from rotating in the wind.
