Power Reclining Couch Maintenance

Still working on getting everything tip top. I have the power reclining couch/bed. Is anyone aware of any maintenance items required to keep things working as they should? All I cna think of is a bit of oil on the mechanism.

Short answer… NO.

Longer answer… it has never once crossed my mind. But then we only use that “feature” when we are showing the RV to friends. Especially the pull out foot rests that rattle when we’re driving the RV.

You really are being thorough. Good for you.

I have been under the couch and found that cleaning the runners and lubricating them made the that tiny motor that moves the unit in and out work a little easier. You would be surprised at how much stuff gets built up over the years.
Of course I'm the kind of guy who also cleans the heating ducts with a vacuum.
Good Luck!

I have only put silicone spray on the moving parts, cleaned the dog fur away seems to keep it in working order.

Reclining couch

I rebuilt the cable that secures the footrest for travel. PO mentioned that it creeped-out during travel. Heard differing remarks about how long the original cable was (for replacement purposes). @$84.00 the price seemed ridiculous, so I built one myself and it works good.

We love it and use it all the time...but I never thought about maintenance. I'll add the suggestions to my list (though I will probably end up breaking it!).

We've had one repeating glitch on ours. I assume it similar. We found out the electric switches are not "grandchildren proof" and don't seem too stout. Thus far we've had to replace the forward one 2X. Not hard to replace but I'm now keeping a spare. (and watching the grandkids to assure they are not spending hours running the seats in and out)
