Passenger side mirror

Hi Fellow & Lady Winnie owners. Here's my conundum. Not wanting to spend over $300 for a new mirror on my 2003 Adventurer 38G, I am first seeking to find an old one which someone just might accidently have laying around after replacing one on their rig due a misfortunate mishap which knocked their old one off!! Mine has a broken shaft on the bottom of the mirror which mounts in the arm which attaches to the body. Someone owning the rig before me must have encountered a stationary object which in turn caused its round shaft to sheer. It was then reattached using epoxy and bolt where the set screw normally secured it in the socket of the arm. After some normal road vibration, the "quick fix" is no longer viable!! What I really need is just the mirror housing with the bottom round shaft if that is possible. The ad for the whole new unit states that this mirror unit fits the following:
2001 Winnebago Adventurer
2001 Winnebago Chieftain
2001 Winnebago Journey
2001 Itasca Horizon
2001 Itasca Suncruiser
2001 Itasca Sunflyer
2002 Winnebago Journey
2002 Itasca Horizon
2002 Winnebago Adventurer
2002 Itasca Sunflyer
2002 Itasca Suncruiser
2003 Itasca Horizon
2003 Itasca Suncruiser
2003 Itasca Sunflyer
2003 Winnebago Adventurer
2003 Winnebago Journey
2003 Winnebago Chieftain
2007 Itasca Sunrise
2007 Winnebago Voyage
2007 Winnebago Latitude
2004 Itasca Sunrise
2005 Itasca Sunrise
2010 Winnebago Journey
2010 Itasca Meridian
2011 Winnebago Journey
2011 Winnebago Meridian
Sorry for such a long post. Anyone out there in "Winnie Land" got any thoughts?
Thanks so much!!

You can buy just the inner mount plate.

http://https://www.pacificrvmirrors.com/product-p/709418-7-deluxe-backing-plate.htm

Not sure if that’s the exact one you need. But you get the idea.

Or, once you have it that far apart, you could have yours properly welded back together. I did that for my Mom once.

It's not universal, but Valtera makes 90% of all RV motorhome mirrors. You might check with them.

Google this and you will see a lot of options... if this is the type of mirror you have:

FLEETWOOD / WINNEBAGO PASSENGER SIDE VELVAC 2025 MIRROR PART #713802

Not verified, but this info may help you find the right replacement mirror.
https://www.amazon.com/Velvac-713802.../dp/B00A2TDJF2
• Exterior mirror assembly with heat and remote for passenger side, Winnebago Industries Part Number 106015-12-01A

• For flat glass replacement order part number 106015-12-700
• For convex glass replacement order part number 106015-12-701
• Due to dimensional weight additional shipping fees apply

Please let us know where you find a source and what they charge for just the mirror. Thanks!

==> Some car windshield repair shops will also change this mirror out for you, and they may only charge you $20-$40 labor. ??? I seem to remember I was charged $75 total for parts and labor for the flat mirror, but that was a long time ago.

Try a Google search for rv junk yards. You will get treated to many to look into.

Thanks for asking. I called Velvac, the manufacturer, and they gave me info on a whole mirror replacement as well as how to disassemble my mirror down to the inner guts where the broken shaft is. Got a p/n for that and came up with one through "FindItParts.com" for a little over 100 bucks & free shipping. However my guy who does small engine repair said he thinks that he can fix it for me for a few small bills so I am letting him have a go at it. I'll let you know if that works and show pics later if it does.

Contact Litchsinn. They have direct access to Winnebago's Stock Room and may be able to find the part. Litchsinnrv.com

Just about any welder capable of dealing with aluminum should have been able to make a permanent repair for reasonable cost if you brought them the broken part all cleaned up and ready for them to work on. A lot of vibration and stress there to trust JB Weld to hold it all together.

So, my local repair guy found a round metal tube that would fit snugly over the broken shaft, welded a small nut on it which used a set screw to secure it and then amazingly it then fit snugly into the mounting arm secured by the mounting arm's set screw and voila, works like a charm. Cost me less than half if I had bought new inner frame online. Always use local business when possible.
