We have a 2018 Minnie Winnie that we purchased new in 2019. The finish on the cap above the cab is fading bad, I have buffed and waxed (liquid Nu Finish) it twice with only temporary results. It is getting worse as the months go by. Does anyone have a long term fix for this problem? Would a ceramic finish last longer?
Hi Dave,
I have heard of this problem before. I believe the only true fix is to get it professionally repainted. I suspect that the tan color is to blame.
When we use fiberglass on the boats and outside decks, Robert's Gray is the most durable gelcoat color. Also, white should work well too. Sorry; I know these are not the answers you sought.
Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Dave, my 2016 Winnie Vista 30T has faded terrible in the front. Having tried everything to bring it back, I have decided to have it repainted. The strips they put on the front and back sides of the slides that go top to bottom have done the same thing. You would think a company that had been in business as long as they have would their act together better than this...

Maybe they’re hoping we’ll all just trade up instead of fixing their planned obsolescence paint jobs?
I own a 2018 31G and have the exact same problem. I've tried ceramic wax and it does look better (from a distance). I'm interested in Winnebago's response.
I have 2018 Micro Minnie blue which fades very quickly. The solution I have found is Meguiars products. My research has taught me that wax will not work the same way as it does on clearcoat. The fiberglass is not fading it is oxidizing. The answer is a four step process…. Wash thoroughly and then use Meguiars #49 Oxidization remover until you have got the basic color back. May take two or more applications. Then use Meguiars “polish” followed by wax. What I have learned is that getting all. Of the oxidization off is very important, that for the last two steps use product sparingly. On all steps polish immediately in small batches, and make sure it is not hot and that you are completely in the shade. I can followup with the product numbers of the polish and the wax. I have purchased these products in several locations and also got the three products in a package online.
Update
After I sent Winnebago photos they told me to get an estimate to have the Cap repainted and send that to them for review. The estimate was over $2500. I sent it to them and was told to have the work done and submit a paid in full receipt and they will reimburse me. Assuming they keep their word I am a happy camper,
Thank You
Winnebago
I have a 2018 and the same exact thing. one side looks like brand new and the other side looks 100 years old. I have no idea why its faded so bad. We pull in at the camp site last year and a guy had the same camper same year and it had the same exact problem on the same side. Not sure what to do.
