I don't know of a way to reset an hour meter, as it's important to know total lifetime hours. As for the spinning hour glass; that tells you it's running...not sure why you want that gone?

I don't want to rest the hours, that would be ridiculous. The spinning hours, I thought, was like a "TUNE UP" light or symbol. Reset it after you tune it up. I suppose it could SPIN to tell me it's running, but I doubt it.

Onan 7.5

This spring I had full service done on our 7.5 plus some repair for an overheating issue. When I picked up the RV from Onan Factory repair in Goshen, IN area the spining hour glass was going when he started the generator for me. I have to think that this is normal in service operation and not related to service needed. I would call them in Goshen as it is easily done.

Onan hour meters have only 2 wires attached, a pos and a neg. There is no method to re-set anything, as there are no switches, knobs, buttons, levers on the hour meter..
A flashing light is the indicator for service, shown here https://picclick.com/Onan-12-Volt-Re...#&gid=1&pid=1:

Here is the wiring schematic: https://www.ebay.com/itm/140510768667
