obdII?

New to this thread. I have a 2000 Winnebago Adventurer 35u. Does anyone know if this coach has an obdII plug and it's location? The abs lite came on in dash on our last trip home. I have checked all fuses associated with abs and all are good. I am wondering if a code would lead me in the right direction.

If you can fit by a auto parts store they let you use a scanner free.

i believe all vechiles including mh since 1993 have a obd2 port. Most times its under dash by knee.

Scanner should tell you the issue right away!

I had an 01 35u Chieftain. There was a recall/ TSB re the ABS light. Ford probably can tell you if this was done in yours assuming that you're not the original owner. Otherwise you would know.

If memory serves my correctly, the Ford F53 literature says that the OBDII port for the finished product (after the MH is built) should be placed somewhere near the right side of the steering column, a supposed "expected" location so techs would know where to find it. With that said, it is on the left side of the steering column in my Vista. It faces down and is capped, so is easy to miss at first glance.

Thanks guys, I knew there had to be one, however, when I looked under the dash I did not see it. I have my own scanner and will try to locate port shortly. I am the original owner and do remember taking it in for recall but don't remember what for. I'll have to check my records.

On my 2001 the OBDII plug is on the right side of the steering column. You need to get on your knees to access it, but its there.

it would help if you stated which chassis your moho is built on.
you can add this info in your signature block.

on my 2001 winne, workhorse chassis, my obd2 port is on the left side of the steering wheel post. it is a little inboard of my parking brake release handle.
check for info about your brake problems by using the search function of this forum.
i have read that workhorse brake problems cannot be diagnosed with an obd2 scanner. if on the workhorse chassis, brake problems require a proprietary tech 2 scanner.

I found the port on right side of steering column. It's the ford chassis and you are correct, the scanner did not read any codes. I will need to get scanned with the proper scanner.

One thing you may check with out reading the codes is for a dirty pickup point on the wheel sensor. I am not sure how the Ford chassis pickup point is installed, but on the vehicles I have had issues with there is a probe or sensor attached with a 10 mm bolt on the inboard side of the hub. This should be the only thing that has wires attached to it. Remove the sensor at each wheel and inspect for grease or oil on the pickup point. If there is any present remove it with contact cleaner ( electrical cleaner) inspect the hub as good as possible for a leaking seal. By cleaning the sensor and the hub area this should remove your warning. However it will come back when it gets dirty again. If this is causing your fault. I would inspect the front wheels first. Hope this helps.
One thing about latched faults, you may have to disconnect the battery to reset the fault or extinguish the light. Some vehicles will reset after 3 trips and no fault noted by the computer. This usauly is done by starting the vehicle driving to a speed above 25-35 MPH, stopping, shutting off the ignition and repeating 3 times.

Thanks, dsbike. I will check sensors on my next day off, next wednesday. The light came on during our last trip home from Disney. A small car cut in front of us and I had to apply brakes rather hard. The light came on immediately following that encounter. On our way home we stopped and started the three times you mentioned without resetting so I believe somthing is amiss. Thanks for the advice on the sensors.
