Cool Need your comments on a replacement awning for 1986 MH

We had the A&E Imperial 8000 awning on this 32' motorhome and the hardware needs replacing. Can't seem to find the upper right bracket or the bottom right bracket to purchase. Looked at the PPL website and called them and they said they don't make them anymore.

Anyone know of a good replacement awning for this year motorhome? I would like the kind that is just stationary on across the top of the motorhome and you pull it out like a shade and then add poles to it. I don't care about these slider awnings... since there seems to be issues with the hardware on them.

Anyone with ideas of what would work on this 1986 Elandan Winnebago 32'? We are looking for the 16' (which uses 15'2" fabric).

Thanks much!!

From the PPL online catalog:

Bracket mounting kit, $59.59.

There's all kinds of stuff there

A lot of the time yo can easily adapt the parts to fit an older unit. I had to replace the bottom brackets on our old 1979 Silver Streak.

Also, check with Vintage Trailer Supply.

awning / fridge

Thank you DonDee. We were looking at that bracket set. I made the call to the company and he said they didn't have anything to fit the year we have. That made no sense to me. The brackets don't look like the brackets that we have that's broken. So we're confused. I will have to post a picture of what we have to get your feedback. Thank you for the confirmation that what we thought was the kit..... was the kit. We're pretty new at this RV stuff and loving it. When we bought this motorhome and drove it away the 16' awning started to fall away from the MH. It was the bottom right side that was broken away from the MH. We had to tie it to the headrest inside and shut the door to hold it from falling away from the MH.

Everything in this MH looks unused. Nothing broken or torn. For a 1986 that's pretty amazing. The fridge doesn't work though so we've been reading to pull it out and place it on it's side to shifts the stuff in it.... and that's what the nortec manual says to do for an hour. We sure lucked out on this MH. $2500 and the engine purrs, pulling hills like it's a car.

Have you tried contacting A&E direct? They may be able to assist you with a newer style bracket that will fit your situation. Try dometic.com and search their site for a contact phone number or email address. Hope this helps.
