Mystery compartment

Sorry in advance if this has already been asked and answered, but I couldn't find it listed.

We just bought a 2019 Navion 24D and are familiarizing ourselves with the coach. There is a black metal door between the driver and passenger seats on the step down portion of the floor. There are two silver t-handle knobs that open the door. When I removed the door, I found ours had nothing inside. There is a cluster of yellow and white 10 gauge wires entering the compartment from the drivers side of the empty compartment and they are attached to nothing.

Does anyone know what is supposed to be in this compartment and what these wires are attached to?

Thanks.

It's for a sub woofer or leveling jack controls.

On my unit (2017 MBS chassis), that is the subwoofer. My metal plate is slotted for the woofer sound.

Check the numbers on the wires. Winnebago has a very detailed schematic for each unit they build. The numbers will tell you what Winnebago intended them for.
Note that wires are ran for options regardless if your unit is equipped with them or not. For example, I have a diesel generator, however, I found a separate harness for gas generator (verified using the Winnebago schematic mentioned above). This way the unit can be equipped with either down the line.

Thanks

Thanks BKG, where do I find the wiring schematic? There is nothing in the owners manual. My last coach was a Monaco and there was one in the Manuel.

As Chris directed, this photo reference should get you there:

If you don’t intend to use it for a subwoofer or some other purpose you could maybe replace the knobs with locks and have a compartment to store valuables or things like passports that would be a pain to lose.
