Minnie Winnie 22R Bunk Bed Leak

Hi, new here as I am desperate. I bought a 2016 Minnie Winnie in 04/2022, and drove to Yellowstone in the summer. All was good. I am not sure if a powerwash would do the damage but I saw the leak after that. Photos show current status. It was not this bad in the beginning. I thought it was the light and caulked it. It seems it is not solved. So my question is how can I found where the leak is and possibly seal it? It is over the passenger side. The bunk bed mattress has soaked some water and has stain on the cover (I see the mattress is zipped, wondering if it is washable as it seems hard to put back on with the foam after wash?) What is the front ceiling part called? I saw a few whole bunk rebuild videos but did not see how to replace just this if applicable. Any suggetion? Should I take it to a dealer or shop to find the leak part and repair? Thanks a lot.

Hi Minnie22R,
The overcab bunk area cap was an option in 2016. Does your 22R have it? (see photo below)
The reason this cap was introduced was because the overcab area is especially prone to leaking. If you repair this yourself, it is very important to use the sealants which Winnebago specifies. It may not hurt to get some professional help.

Thanks for the reply. So here are some more photos I took. How can I find where the leak is? Looks like it is from the bottom not from top? Is there some instruction to replace the part I pointed out and the discolored board?

Hi again Minnie22R,
I can see from your photos that you do not have the nose cap. I wonder if a nose cap could be retrofitted to your 22R?
If it were me, I would go over the entire roof and every leading seem with a fine-tooth comb, and any area that looks suspicious, I would clean with rubbing alcohol and re-seal with the Winnebago-specified sealant for that area. Once the sealant is cured, I would set-up a lawn sprinkler on the roof and check for leaks inside. Then, I would spray the front area with a hose and see if I could make it leak that way.
I guess you will need to order replacement interior panels; not sure.

Reseal the clearance lamps. Our '19 25B was in to the dealer twice with no luck & we finally stopped at the mothership where they found the clearance lamps leaking like a sieve. Sealed them up and no more leak.

Where's your fresh-water-tank at? We had a similar leak once on a previous RV and it turned out to be a water pump fitting. Just a thought. Larry,2014 Reyo P

Kinda doubt that the water tank, pump, or any water lines/fittings are anywhere near the front upper bunk area.

OP has a leak at one of the seams, likely near the top (water can travel a ways before showing up inside.
