Kwikee levelers don't always go down

Kwikee Level Best 2000,2010,3000,3010 System

We are having leveling issues in auto mode. I have never used the manual settings so right now I don't know what to expect.

The drivers side levelers extend to the ground and then the passenger front gets about half way down and the rear starts to go down but then they both stop.

The hydraulic motor runs and the sound seems normal. I have checked the fluid level according to the manual. The jacks were off and all the way up. The fluid was 1" from the top of the fill port as recommended.

Here's the rub, when I exit the main door with the engine running and the steps extend the passenger levelers go down like everything is fine and the auto leveling systems works.

The manual suggest using the system once a month. I haven't cycled it each month and maybe a lack of use is an issue? I keep a maintenance minder on for the engine battery and the house batteries are charged with the 50 amp shore connection.

Any thoughts about what could be the root cause are appreciated.

I've been able to spend a little more time trying to cycle the leveling system and wonder if my problem is an electrical issue.

The auto mode will send the drivers side down and still hangs up on the passenger side so I used the MANUAL MODE. After I start all over with the levelers fully retracted I can get all four down.

I can't help but wonder if the daisy chain wiring isn't the issue and there just aren't enough amps due to the long run. I don't mind calling Lippert Tech Support but thought someone has experienced this before and may want to chime in.

Look for corroded connections

I had a problem with my jacks this fall. It failed with the jacks down. The connections between the jack solenoid and the pump motor were corroded. In the picture below, a metal strap that connects the two studs was removed. I cleaned the strap and studs with a small wire brush.

Thanks for the tip JoeSR. I still haven't sorted out this issue, but to me it really does sound like it will be something like what you've found. I've been using the manual mode for now. Auto just hangs up and it seems worse then before.

I've been so consumed with house repairs after Hurricane Michael I haven't been able to spend much time on the RV. I will look at this very soon and appreciate the advice. I took a screen shot and will take a look under the RV.
