Keyless entry with keypad

I will be adding a new keyless entry with keypad to my Rv in the next few week, this way I won't have to carry keys when I go to the beach.

Are you using a regular residential keyless unit?

I added that to the stick house. After almost 26 years and having been a Parade of Homes house with 25,000 people through it during the show the lock was worn out and no parts available. So we upgraded to a Schlage unit. The DW, grandson and I like it. May have to look into upgrading the MH too!

I'm gathering parts to do the same. I plan to use mid 90's Ford parts. They used a stand alone module and a wired keypad. Toughest part will be fitting a solenoid into the door, have to hollow out a space for it. I have my father-in-law's '08 Navion to copy from since it has a power lock on the side door.

I'm using a universal auto lock unit from eBay, and for the door wiring im using door jam switch ( use for slidding doors) and I'm waiting on the keypad from a ford unit.

If you have the type of lock it would work great, I have then in my house and I love them. No keys to worry about no more.
