Went out to get something out of the coach, had to open slide. It went out about 4-5 inches and stopped, no noise, nothing. Checked voltages good to the pump motor. A call to HWH confirmed that the motor had died. They are sending me a new motor which I have to pay for, out of warranty. Has anyone replaced the pump motor, and if so how much trouble is it.

Haven't had to do the replacement. However, the techs at HWH arereportedly very helpful if you have a problem.

Too bad you couldn't make the trip to Moscow, IA as they really treat you right and have been very fair on labor charges when we had some problems with a prrevious coach.

It probably depends on the coach model you have. On my Itasca 32-V it was very simple. Everything was out in the open and simple to work on.

Called HWH tech support this morning. Walked me thru the whole process. All is well with the world. How if it only gets warm enough to replace the motor. My thermometer is reading 6. Glad I found the problem now, we are planning on going south in a few weeks.

Bob:

My pump motor failed on a Friday AM as we were loading the rig for a weekend trip. I was lucky as if failed 4 days short of the 3 yr. HWH warranty expiration date. A local Winne dealer replaced it but said it was a fairly simple deal. I have wondered if the motor could be had from someone like W.W. Grainger if necessary. Just curious how much HWH gets for the motor?

HWH charged $280.00 for a new motor. Some one told me it was a 454 chevy starter motor, I didn't check this out.

HWH told me the cost would be $189.00 + shipping. I can't see it being a starting motor for a car, it's only 3" in diameter by 5-5/16" long. I have seen bigger starters on lawn and garden equipment. They told me that there are several different motors. It depends on what pump assembly is on the coach. I plan on having my old one rebuilt for a spare.
