How do you remove Window Valances?

Hi All! I have a 05 Journey and I want to be able to remove the window valances so I can take off my day/night shades easier. I know I can remove the shades without removing the valances, however, it would be so much easier to be able to remove the valances first. I see the bottom brackets, but I can not see how the tops of the valances are held on. Anyone remove theirs and does anyone have a diagram or picture of the top fasteners? I looked in the parts catalog and there is no diagrams of the valances. Any help would be awesome! Thanks All!

Jack: To remove the dinning area valance I had to open the window and reach inside the coach from the outside. Re-strung the blinds by using RV Shade and Blind Repair . Process is not much fun. Next time I'll buy the new MCD shades. Good luck.

If your 05 is like my 03, you can remove the shade by removing the screws that secure the shade to the valance. They go thru the top of the shade into the valance.

Once the shade is removed, the way to remove the valance will be obvious.

OK, Thanks. That answers my question then you cannot remove the valances without removing the window shades first. Bummer! I have to restring one of my day/night shades again and it would be a much simpler job if the valance could be removed first. Thanks for quick response.

Just a side note. I have restrung day/night shades with and without the valance removed. I can say as I recall it being better one way or the other.

Thanks MaverickBBD. I have restrung several shades myself not a hard task just time consuming. The hardest part is getting the shades down and back up again. It would be much easier if the valances could be removed, unfortunately I realize that is not an option. I also emailed Winnebago customer service and they called me with in 24 hours, great service! Thanks All for the replies.

You cannot remove the valance without removing the shade first.

I am through restringing these things. I am ordering the MCD blinds.

I installed one of the MCD blinds last year. They are no box of chocolates to install either.

But I will take down the valance to install the clips needed for the MCD blinds. Then install the valance, then the MCD blind. Tip on MCD, do not remove the tape and cardboard filler until AFTER you hook it in to the brackets. Ask me how I know.
