Homemade tire clearner?

I'm tired of paying $5 a bottle or more for decent tire cleaning solutions that do a good job but won't damage the rubber.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a good tire cleaning solution made from common household cleaning materials?

One might research using Borax, this site talks about it. https://bellengineering.net/tires/ho...hold-products/
I have not seen any research on the long term effects on rubber or synthetic rubber. I along with many others use it in my black tank.

(borax is considered toxic to dogs)

I use water / baby wash / vinegar mixed together and applied with a stiff brush and doobie sponge - let the tire dry and then apply 303...

Use the same for the entire coach.

Sounds like it might work. About what proportions do you make the mix? Would Dawn be a good substitute for the baby wash?

In about a gallon of water use a couple of pumps/squirts of baby wash and a 'small splash' of vinegar. Dawn is a grease/oil stripper and might wash out natural tire oils. You could try it on the tires - definitely don't recommend it on the body of the coach.

On the coach body we use a new-generation chamois to wash the coach - when you wring it out before washing you don't need to dry anything, including windows, chrome, etc.
