Heat pump

Hi there I have a question as to why the condenser on the heat pump freezes up on the heat mode.

It's just an AC running backward. I would suspect it may be low on Freon.

In the heat pump mode the outside condenser becomes the evaporator. During high humidity frost will form on the coils. The units used on RV’s do not have the controls to reverse cycle and heat the coils. So it is best to shut it off a let it defrost.
